I am going to electroporate algal cells (10Um dia). The optimized protocol uses 1mm cuvette. Recently I figured out that I don't have 1mm cuvettes, but instead I have lots of 2mm cuvettes. Now I am skeptical about using the 2mm cuvettes, since I think that it might cause a reduction in transformation efficiency.
You will have to use twice the voltage in order to maintain the same voltage gradient, and will have to increase the volume DNA+cell mixture to ensure that it covers the same cross-sectional area of the electrodes.
As Alejandro said, twice the voltage. according to http://www.btxonline.com/content/PDFS/Electroporation%20Optimization%20Guide.pdf , if your cell is 10µm, a field strength of 1.250 kV is needed, so you'll need 250 volts at RT for 2mm or 500 at 4°C.
