To a statistician, if there is a 95% or greater probability of guilt, this constitutes proof of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. But it seems that most jurors (and judges in bench trials) don’t apply the 95%, or even any statistical, standard. I've read estimates that most juries find a defendant guilty when there is statistically a 70% or higher probability that the defendant committed the crime.
