After this pandemic outbreak, nothing will be the same. Previously suspicious attitude toward accepting innovative solutions in clinical practice and long times for regulatory procedures and certification, according to my opinion, are already changing. The times to translation to real life will hopefully become shorter. What do you think about this dynamics, especially in EU?
The Covid-19 pandemic has scarred the world. It is life now completely unrecognisable in comparison to the freedoms we had a few short months ago. Lockdowns have restricted travel so those industries which have successfully digitalised are thriving. Whilst those businesses that are unable to do so are in danger of collapsing and bringing a significant chunk of the economy down with them.
The role of tele-medicine in the healthcare sector is increasing for outpatient services. Some patients even prefer to have a consultation via telephone or video calls whilst sitting in their own homes. However, many people are unwell and need to be admitted to hospital. So, this sector can’t fully digitise.
I think by this pandemic disease the structure and strategy of all industries should be changed and this issue is much more significant in healthcare system. from the soft aspect innovative work behavior among nurses should be somehow accelerated and emphasized, and in hard aspect healthcare industry should move toward an innovative technology which can diminish human capital from face to face contact with patients.
I agree wit you and Chris. In addition, more open innovation and open R&D are needed to accelerate the process of research collaboration around the world. Several developments in the globalisation of corporate R&D should take a place. For example, improvements for more flexible intellectual property rights system are needed at national and global levels and others.
The important aspect in e-health is to realise medical devices and software applications with the maximum degree of usability and accessibility and the maximum degree of comprehensibility of data.
Innovations in healthcare will primarily be based on AI and automation of processes.
Without any doubt, the trend to adopt innovative technologies in healthcare systems would hike ..COVID-19 situation has proven it as inevitable step to take.
In my opinion, such biological crisis events as the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic (causing Covid-19 disease) usually contribute to faster acceptance of innovative technologies in the healthcare system.
