I need to make an extraction buffer for my stool samples used for ELISAs. Calcium Chloride was one of the ingredients found in most literature for the extraction buffer. However, the type of CaCl2 wasn't specified. What do you recommend, anhydrous, dihydrate, monohydrate CaCl2 for ELISAs?
As you see the molecular weight in the chemical box(differs each other, since H2O is included in the mass of CaCl2.2H2O), you can prepare the solution accordingly!(as you need).
The molarity of your ions is important. Therefore you need more mass [g]/L the more water is in your salt. The solubility of the different hydraets can be differnt, but this doesn't matter.
In the ELISA istself, there is no Ca++ required. Ca++ can create some CaPhosphate precipitates. Be carful to keep the final Ca++ concentration below 2 mmol/L.
