Hi, they are both analytical techniques in which an LC (either HPLC or UHPLC) is coupled with either an IR (Infrared spectroscopy) or NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance). In both cases, LC is not able to separate components with enough resolution to be able to do a proper analysis, so the separation resultant from the LC is fed into the IR or the NMR that are able to process/separate the sample enough to identification/quantification
