I always perform Western Blot film processing in a digital machine. But the machine is malfunctioned now and the repair process will take an indefinite amount of time due to administrative problems. But I require to develop my blots frequently. So, I was looking for a manual method of processing the films. In that case, I need some suggestions regarding the brand of developer and fixer that works well and is also compatible with the manual processing of the autoradiographs.
Back in the bad old days I processed my films with Kodak GBX developer and fixer. It always worked well but was a lot messier than an autoprocessor. I used tobuy my chemicals from a xray supply company in Columbus, OH

Maybe it is time to think digital. You could easily set up a system for $10K together with camera, box and lenses. Software is free and does not require a license renewal.

Thinking digital is great, but $10K is quite an amount of money! And I bet the systems with cooled cameras that can detect luminescence are even more expensive.

I set up my system for $1.5K. The top figure was the best system on the market which included a $8K digital camera. You could use a $1.5K camera for a very comparable system in terms of sensitivity and quality.
