I am trying to evaluate via NMR and using 13CGlucose the production of 13CG6P by Hexokinase using a preparation of fresh isolated mitochondria. The problem has been that, as they are fresh mitochondria, the buffer used contains mannitol and/or sucrose, and both have a peak in their spectra that coincide with a 13CG6P peak, which makes interpretation of the results difficult. So, I would like to know if anyone would know which other sugar I could use to replace in the buffer or which buffer was used if anyone has already done NMR measuring 13CG6P production in fresh mitochondria. Thank you very much!
