I have this question about optimizing the catalyst to enhance the reactivity of mCPBA.
The catalyst will coordinate to mCPBA to enhance its reactivity.
So how to enhance the catalyst performance?
For example, to choose the right metal ion, the better ligand, the better reaction condition, etc.
But how do I know which metal ion is better and which ligand is better for this reaction? Can expert help answer this question？

If you are a research scholar, then that is your job to learn and that is your profession. Please read basic coordination chemistry, organometallic chemistry, 18 electron rule, oxidative addition, reductive elimination process. Please look into the catalytic cycles involved in cross coupling, hydrogenation, hydroformylation and carbonylation reactions to assess the role of metal centers, anchoring ligands. How CFSE varies along and down the group among 3d, 4d and 5d metals. Classification of ligands based on: i) pure sigma donor, ii) sigma and pi donor, and iii) sigma donor and pi-acceptor properties. All these ingredients are very essential to design new ligands and make metal based catalysts.

Dear Qun Ye thank yo for your interesting technical question. As indicate by Balakrishna Maravanji , optimizing a catalyst is a rather complex project which cannot be satisfactorily answered in a ResearchGate thread. You could make an entire PhD project out of this. Furthermore, it would be important to know what reaction(s) you are planning to do. Presumable it's an oxidation reaction with mCPBA, but what do you want to oxidize?

Understanding chemical reaction mechanisms and inorganic chemistry would be the starting point I'd say. Afterwards, applying computational simulations to the problem could help you save time and money.
