How do non-complexed cellulases recognize and bind to cellulose? How is cellulose hydrolysis by cellulases possible? What interactions occur between enzymes and the substrate? Those are some of questions important for enzyme modification.
to view the mechanism, only put the cursor on the reaction and will appear the description of the specific interaction between the enzyme and the substrate.
Piyush, thank you for your reference. I need the molecular mechanism by which cellulase binds to cellulose and hydrolyze the substrate, eg, the hydrogen formation, van de Waals force and hydrophobic/hydrophilic interaction between the enzyme and substrate. Do anyone have any ideas?
Depends on what kind of cellulase you are interested in. We did this kind of study on the Cel12 class of cellulase. Here are some papers for your reference.
