Hello Every Body,
I am building up an electronic system, that includes an electronic module along with an interfacing unit (Arduino or Pi). I am trying to protect my system from any abrupt power shut down. For this i am looking for some battery backup solution so that my interfacing unit gets shut down properly without loosing data. One solution could be to use UPS but i am not very sure about it. I have 24 Vdc , 5Vdc, +- 15Vdc of Supply.
Could any body suggest me any other solutions?

First, you need to determine the power consumption of your device and minimal necessary battery uptime required. Answer vary from supercapacitor ( enough time to gracefully store critical data on Atmega) to high-power Li-Ion battery with sophisticated controller.

it depends on how fast you could shut down your system and how important it is that all Power lines are powerd until you shut down the system.
if you have the ability to shut down the system within a short periode of time i would suggest you to use a 12V batterie (http://de.rs-online.com/web/p/bleiakkus/5375444/) and one step up converter for the 24 V. (or 2 of them and converter for the other voltages)
if it is not important that you keep everything running - I would only backup the Controller (Arduino/Pi) there you can use every 3.3V Battery of a Smartphone.
