We test Casr expression in human stem cells with real-time PCR (Taqman probes, Life technologies), but only using a large amount of DNA (about 250ng) we observed ct at 32-34 cycles. We would evaluate the efficacy of assays using a real positive control, with a stable and strong expression of this gene.

Try also the Gene Expression Database for Human Tumor Cell Lines and Derived Xenograft Models: Just enter the gene symbol and "The database will return log 2 values for our cell lines and xenograft models - listed separately and combined. The log 2 values show the relative expression of your target with each increase in log 2 value of 1 representing a two-fold increase. For example, a cell line with a log 2 value of 8 will express 6X more of your target than a cell line with a log 2 value of 5."
