I'm using trimethylsiloxy terminated PDMS of different MW to spin coat on a glass surface. Is there a known and tested cross-linking agent and accelerator to cure PDMS? In most of the articles i read a commercial two part system was used (Sylgard) which i don't have.
Trimethylsilyl-terminated PDMS is an inert polymer and will not crosslink, unless there are functional side chains, such as vinyl groups. The two part system typically has ,on one side, a vinyl-functional PDMS and other, silane (SiH) functional PDMS or other small molecules that contain SiH groups. Pt based catalyst is included in one of those parts. Upon mixing, hydrosilylation reaction between the vinyl and SiH group takes place to form covalent bonds. Since those PDMS are multifunctional precursors, it does crosslink.
