Suspension THP-1 cells can proliferate, but do adherent cells continue to divide after macrophage differentiation? If their ability to divide had continued, I hypothesize that we could have access to these cells as an adherent THP-1 cell line (commercial). Can you enlighten me, dear researchers who have experience in this field?

No, THP-1 derived macrophages do not continue to divide.
THP-1 which is a human monocytic cell line, is one of the widely used in vitro models for monocyte to macrophage differentiation. The differentiation of THP-1 monocytes into macrophage-like cells can be induced by phorbol 12-myristate-13-acetate (PMA), 1 α, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (vD3), or macrophage colony stimulating factor (M-CSF).
Differentiated cells are adherent, growth arrested (as THP-1 induced cells receive the signal to stop proliferation and start differentiation), are more phagocytic, and generally have increased cell surface expression of CD11b and CD14. Moreover, they exhibit altered expression of several cell cycle-related genes, such as upregulation of the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1 (p21) and decreased level of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA).
