The immunohistochemistry allows to visualize practically any cell type in the skin and in the other organs:
- p63, CK5/6 positive in squamous epithelium
- s100 - dentritic cells/ melanocytes
- neurofilament: for neural cells
- chromogranin, synaptophysin : for neuroendocrine cells.
- HMB45, meanin A- exclusively melanocytes
- CD3,5, 20 79 etc: subpopulations of T-B - cells.
This is just to give an example, the list is not all inclusive, there are many others for more specific and rare applications.
Hi, you can use AE1, AE2, and AE3 antibodies that reacting with the epitopes of the mammalian acidic (50–58 kDa) and basic (58–66 kDa) alpha-keratins and some keratins of high molecular weight (66–67 kDa) for the immunolocalization of alpha-keratins in the epidermis of vertebrate species . You can also use the monoclonal anti-cytokeratin 1/10 (LH1) recognizing heterodimers K1/K10. (Santa Cruz Biotechnology Inc.).
Dear all, I agree with the Nikita´s recommendation and immunohistochemistry. I only can add that keratins 4,15 are product of basal keratinocytes and keratins 1,10 are specific to stratum spinosum, keratins 2 and 9 for stratum granulosum. I agree with immunolabeling of previously mentioned markers. Immunolabeling of Langerhans-dendritic cell for specific protein marker S100 is suitable.
