Is this obtained under reducing conditions ? is this the only observed band or have you several other bands ? 50 kDa band was reported (probably as non-specific) together with a band arround 15 kDa which is observed in general.

It is the only band observed.i.e at 50kda

Hi. Are you running any positive controls for your antibody? The 50 kDa is a non-specific band for sure. Is your protein phosphorylated? Play with your antibody dilutions, buffers (TBS, PBS). Hopefully, it'll sort out.

Check your antibody data sheet, it shows the band pattern. Some times you find the non specific bands also. Of-course it is non specific band. You shd run gel until dye front reaches the 2 cm before end. It is very small weight so some times we lost with the dye front. This protein usually run almost with dye front. I did the same and got the results.

Hi,Robert,i have used clone E9 of metallothionein antibody.You can avail this either from DAKO or Abcam.

Thank you，Mansi. I read the specifications of MT, E9 antibody on the website of DAKO, but no data shows it can work on murine samples.

Hi Robert..I have used abcam antibody for MT1/2 and have carried out western blots for mice tissue proteins..hope it works for you.
