Just wondering if anyone knows what this mixture would look like when stable and when mixed? I.e. how do the molecules distribute. Can assume that SDS is below the CMC and water and aceotonitrile are equal amounts.
Water and acetonitrile are very miscible so I would expect that you'd end up with a solution of SDS in a continuous acetonitrile/water phase. Because you are using SDS below its cmc (which may change with water:acetonitrile ratio), the SDS ought to exist as free molecules in solution.
Thanks for your answers:) Yes I realise now that they are miscible, I was originally thinking they would separate out and wasnt sure where the SDS would go. Thanks for your help!
