Sequencing of plant transcriptomes often gives rise to additional sequences called virus like RNA assemblies corresponding to genomic RNAs of viruses infecting these host plants.

How the plants obtained these sequences similar to viruses? was it in the course of evolution?

some virus have the faculty to introduce their genomes in the host genome, but don't forget the sample, it can be polluted...
