We are having difficulty detecting PDCD4 in serum. We have ordered an ELISA to attempt this, but have not tried it yet. Afraid something is wrong with serum.
Hi Brittany, just to be 100% sure, are you trying to detect RNA or the protein?
If you're looking for RNA, do you have any positive controls you've tried?
Hi Brittany, as Andrew suggested, are you certain the gene should be expressed in serum? Was there haemolysis in your original sample?
It looks you are looking for the protein. Then, you may try with another serum if the serum has a problem. Another possibility is that the level of the protein is too low to be detected by your ELISA assay. So try to think of the expected expression level of your protein in the human condition you are assaying. Good Luck
