Confusion about the experimental application of FITC-Dextran molecular weight selection:
FITC-labeled dextran has good water solubility and fluorescence stability, and is often used as a tracer or permeability research tool.
But I am not sure about the selection logic of different molecular weights (such as 10 kDa, 40 kDa, 70 kDa and higher), which may be critical to my experimental design.

Supplementary explanation
- Small molecular weight (such as 4 kDa) is easy to penetrate the cell membrane due to its small molecular size and diffuse through the intracellular liquid phase, which is suitable for dynamic tracing of cell endocytosis/transport pathways.
- Large molecular weight (such as 70 kDa, 200 kDa) is more confined to the vascular system in vivo due to its large particle size, and is often used for quantitative analysis of in vitro/in vivo vascular permeability models.
