If I am performing a dynamic implicit analysis in ABAQUS with an input signal at the base with a timestep of dtsignal; how should I calculate my dtsolver?
Does ABAQUS interpolate the signal if the dtsolver
The accuracy of implicit solver is dependent upon the increment size, which is in turn dependent on the tyep of analysis (quasi-static vs transient dynamics vs impact) and the excited modes of the structure of the structure. A general guideline for implicit solver is also given in abaqus analysis manual :)
My analysis is transient dynamic, I cannot see any guide lines in the manual that I understand atleast. I also dont see any explaination regarding using a time step for the solver less than the time step of the transient load
In general, Abaqus interpolates all time-dependent quantities.
If your signal strongly varies over time, it may be neccessary to force abaqus to use small timesteps to capture all oscillations. You can also use time points to directly state times at which a solution has to be calculated.
