There is consistent background in my HEK293T cells. These are attached to the surface, gets trypsinized along with the cells and multiplies with time eventually leading to death of healthy cells. They look like little threads under a microscope. The cells are tested negative for mycoplasma contamination. I’ve tried reviving an early passage but with subsequent 3-4 passages the problem resurfaces. I’ve been using filtered 10% FBS with and without anti-anti but the problem still persists.

Can someone please help identity what could be the possible reason?
