I want to stop the vesicular release of glutamate and GABA in acute cerebellar slices. Would tetanus toxin (TeNT) work on both types of synapses? I actually already found papers where TeNT wipes out the GABAergic release, so my doubts are actually more about glutamate. Can anybody point out a publication were ePSCs are removed upon incubation with TeNT?
You can use bafilomicyne A1. It prevents loading of vesicles with both glutamate and GABA.

We recently published on tetanus toxin's effect on both EPSCs and IPSCs in hippocampus (Ferecsko et al Brain Structure and Function) http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007%2Fs00429-013-0697-1
The effect was more complete on inhibition but both were affected
