Are we wrongly focused while treating covid-19? Virus is creating problems because it replicates quickly and harms cells, tissues and organs not by virus but by filling up cell space and leading to self destruction. Perhaps all virus constituents are present in the air and environment. For some reasons (physical, medical or other triggers like infection) they get activated particles of the size of nano dimensions which are highly surface active. All nanosized particles are highly surface active because their surface to volume ratio is extremely large - all atoms of the virus are available to attack as there is hardly any volume. It is possible to enhance their size by developing a mechanism for them to interact with each other making their size to grow to bulk dimensions and their role as a disease causing virus will be gone.
So I believe we need to think collectively in the direction to allow self or inter nano sized virus interaction into bigger size.

To think of a way to transform something virulent into something without or weak virulent, this is very important and really deserves support with all the means available to achieve it, I wish it was a specialist ... I too like this proposal but worry that there is a misconception somewhere. Can someone reassure me that it is NOT like eg trying to kill rats in a cellar with a machine gun (equipped with an automatic rat detector, say) which might kill a few rats but with bad, bad side-effects?

I somehow doubt that this virus has travelled all over the globe now from a source. It appears the conditions caused by our scientific development in particular very high frequency stuff like 5G or so have allowed the formation of nanosized particles using constituents existing in the environment. Short wavelengths are well received and can be a trigger for creating assemblies. It was around 1985 that the buckminsterfullerenes, or usually just fullerenes or buckyballs for short, were discovered in 1985 by a team of scientists from Rice University and the University of Sussex, three of whom were awarded the 1996 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
These were synthesized in the lab later using laser ablation of graphite . So synthesis of nanosized particles is a possibility under suitable conditions. The nanoparticles also have the possibility to self replicate. It is in this context I said what I said.

The virus does not exclusively replicate in human lung cells but in all tissues where the specific interaction between the viral spike protein and cellular receptors/molecules can occur, including tissues of the primary hosts (most likely bats) and of the intermediate hosts. Indeed, many viruses exhibit a tropism for certain types of cells (dependent on receptors which allow entry into the cells). This is, e.g. the case for HIV (T lymphocytes), hepatitis viruses (liver cells), rabies virus (cells of the nervous system) etc. Other viruses can infect different cell types (multi- or even pantropism).
