Hi, It is depended on the species of fungi, like for most the fungi that make conidia spores you can use silica gel as substrate for preserve for long time. Also for oomycetes fungi the use water preserve for long time in 4C. Or yous glycerol 5-10% in 4C.

Agreeing with Oadi Matny; it depends on the fungus. Oomycetes can be baited on a sterile ryeseed in water and stay viable for years at room temperature.
