I have implemented "Modified Delphi technique" for my PhD work and found it very unique methodology due to the following benefits:

  • Dominant participants are neutralised and hence "Everyone gets their chance to express themselves during the research process!
  • It improves validity- since you are giving time to the researchers one by one (If its online especially) and eventually helps reach consensus among a group of experts increasing the validity and reliability of the guideline
  • Incorporates diverse perspectives from the experts and helps to integrate a wide range of experiences
  • Facilitates healthy discussion thereby rendering consensus with multiple rounds
