Has anybody tested SPRI select reagents vs. Ampure XP for size selection? Also, I have seen a couple of thread that suggested moving size selection AFTER PCR amplication. My assumption is that would be detrimental since PCR will amplify smaller fragments vs longer fragments and increase noise (just an assumption). Any comment?

SPRIselect and AMPure using the same approach of SPRI Chemistry. AMPure is mainly used to purify PCR amplicons using 1.8X of the original volume of your sample. So that can be cleaned the primer-dimer (about 50 bp), polymerase etc. SPRIselect is mainly used to perform size selection for DNA libraries in order to sequence them using next-generation DNA sequencing. What is the size of amplicon you are going to amplify?
