Some groups reported IFN induction due to lipofectamine-based transfection. In Consequence, some kept using Calcium Phosphate transfection protocol, which seems to affect in a lesser way the cells. In our particular case, we are working with 293T cells.

Lipofectamines are the most used and known chemical transfectants, something which is very frustating for innovative technologies coming from smaller companies. I will never say that they are not good, they are very efficient and are a reference for more than 20 years.
However, it's commonly reported that lipid-based reagents induce slight to high effects on cells. Without being clearly toxic, it's possible to observe changes in the behaviour of cells in downstream expreiments, even if transfection has been good.
You mention JetPrime from Polyplus, it's a polymer-based reagent, like our Viromers (Lipocalyx). With both, you will for sure avoid such effects because these reagents do not interfere with the cell physiology and membranes like liposomes.
if you work with HEK cells or any other standard cells, all will work fine, Ca-phosphate, JetPrime, Viromers...
