*Solved* How does URA3 counter-selection work in bacterial one-hybrid systems?

I feel terribly embarrassed to have posted this. The logic was indeed quite simple: URA3 counter-selection removes the false positives by causing the cells in which URA3 is constitutively expressed to die.
