I prepared Fe(III)-NOTA complex. NOTA ( 2,2′,2”-(1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triyl)triacetic acid , Chematech) in acetic acid and FeCl3.6H20 in water was used. The resulting yellow colored crystalline ppt. showed presence of both NOTA and Fe(III).

The complex is not soluble in water, chloroform, sodium acetate, acetic acid, DMSO, acetonitrile, ethanol. I also heated the solution around 50-60 C.

I will be grateful if anyone can help me to figure out the solubility issue with this complex. Thank you.
