I need to make precipitate, in two separate experiments, LiOH and Li2CO3 on the silica nanoparticles surface contained in a colloidal alcoholic dispersion.

Since the method I used to make precipitate them on the silica surface, does not allow to obtain an uniform layer around the silica nanoparticles, then I would like to know what kind of functionalization of the SiO2 nanoparticles could be helpful to improve the affinity for the LiOH/Li2CO3 to nucleate more uniformly instead of nucleate on a specific point of the silica surface and then grow, so resulting in a non uniform shell-core structure.

Do you have some suggestion?

Thank you
