I am using SIMULINK for modeling and simulation of the behavior of a magneto-rheological damper MR damper, I am using an equation proposed by Spencer et al, when I finished the modeling of the damper I had a problem, when I put it in a structure and a submit the system to a seismic excitation for 25 seconds the time of simulation is running very slowly 0.001 second as a step it take 4 hours to move from 3 s to 4 s, the problem disappears when I put a [Abs] (absolute) value bloc before the damper subsystem, the simulation is finished quickly.
If any one can help me about that ? I will be thankful

Dear Mehdi, is it not possible to run the Spencer algorithm on a processor such as Arduino, and then just output the values into Matlab Simulink. Processor will be quicker to run the real time code. Gerro

I did not understand you, please give me more details, how can i do ! specily if the Damper interact with the structure (building) it means that the simulation must be done ont the same time, and how do you explaine that when i put a [Abs] bloc the simulation work very quickly ?
