I am using a toluidine blue O preparation for staining different parts of wheat plants to observe a fungus growing in them. This works really well for lighter tissues of the plant! However, the stain and chlorophyll interfere with each other and I cannot see inside the cells of the leaves. What is the simplest clearing method for leaf tissue you know of?

I do not have access to paraffin or a microtome.
