hi, I am going to measure the serum triglycerides and free fatty acids in mice, and I noticed that you have done some similar experiments, what kind of elisa kit do you use and how are the results? Thanks
FFAs and triglycerides are measured by a colorimetric enzymatic assays (respectively NEFA c test-Wako Chemicals GmbH, Germany and Hagen Diagnostica SRL, S. Giovanni V.no (AR), ITALY) using an automated spectrophotometer Cobas Fara II (Roche).
If the sample amount is very small, you can reduce the reagent and sample volumes in a proportional way and use a 96 well plate. The intensity of the color developed by the reaction is read by a plate reader.
Any of the Kits for clinical studies is OK. Menarini works perfectly. For a good selection, you must take into account, that there is free glycerol in the plasma or serum.
