I am currently growing the S2 Cells. In one of the flasks, I found a very different cells morphology.
These cells are super adherent and hardly trypsinize, I guess it is contamination, but I do not know what kind of contamination is this? Can someone tell me?

Those are the best I can obtain. As comparison, I attached the normal S2 Cells image.
It seems that the S2 Cells are clumped and died when the strange cells are grow.
Looks to me like it could be fungal, Its hard to tell without better images
I think I found the cause of those strange cells.
They might be the transformed cells due to the in-suitable medium and excessive thermal exposure. I changed the growth medium to another brand and the problem seems not to occur.
well, I cannot confirm for sure also.
However, last time when I am about to thaw new frozen cells stock (with the medium which the strange cells found), I added the medium too fast to the frozen medium and might be the cells exposed to the excessive heat (due to the reaction with DMSO). The day after tomorrow I found the strange cells grow instead of the normal s2 cells. I tried this three times and they gave similar result.
Then I changed my strategy, I added the medium very2 slow (still with the medium which the strange cells found) but it does not work.
So I changed to the other brand of medium and the normal cells grow ok, but still in recovery phase now.
