Normally in cancer the number of surface receptors increases and, with that, hybridization also occurs. But does it have a role in cancer proliferation?
It can be possible because the cancer cell has limited surface area. But for its replication and its other unusual immortal attributes, there is requirement of hybridization of the receptor so that it can utilize ligands of the both receptors of hybrid receptor and can accommodate more signalling to fulfill its hunger through its limited surface area.
Moreover this hybridization also assist it to switch its intracellular signalling easily via cross talk which can increase its adaptability.
