We have revived preserved culture of several fungi, such as Cryptococcus neoformans, Cr.gattii, Candida albicans, C.parapsillosis, C.tropicalis, Rhodotorula glutinis, Geotrichum candidum on Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) Agar, Sabouraud Dextrose agar and Pal sunflower seed medium.The later medium was developed by us in 1970 as a selective medium for the isolation and presumptive identification of Cr.neoformans from clinical and environmental samples.You can download our several papers on the use of Pal sunflower seed medium from Research Gate.
As BHI is a very rich medium, I suggest you to use BHI agar to recover the preserved fungal culture.
