Is anyone working on research on giving, usually money $5 to $20 directly? Elizabeth W Dunn hypothesizes that spending money on other people may have a more positive impact on happiness than spending money on oneself. Before I read about Dunn's research I wrote two novels (A Pocketful of $20s and Three Worries) that describe in detail how to handout money to people who could use a boost, like helping out the person in the grocery line who can't afford all the food they have chosen. I'm happy to send copies of the latest book to anyone who is working on this topic.
