It depends on the topic of the research, how recent it is, the type of problem it addresses, the accuracy of the results obtained by the researcher, as well as the language and quality of the research.

I have seen that editors first of all prefer to go through properly formatted articles. By properly formatted articles, I mean articles with proper font size, style, margin etc. Then the editors prefer to chose articles with proper title and great selection of key words. Then comes quality of the research. So, if these are maintained usually that article has a good chance of getting published in a good journal.

Not all researchers succeed in obtaining good results even though a lot of effort and funds were spent. High ranking journals and other reputable journals are quick in accepting and publishing new ideas (novelty) to attract citations and raise their impact factor. Authors should therefore think of developing new ideas with acceptable standard experimental methods for easy acceptance and publishing.

First of all, it is important to note that in any serious journal, you will at least have your paper accepted after at least some Minor revisions. Thereafter, I would love to emphasize that you should always have a robust methodology employed in your research, research should explore or introduce some novelty and prepared adequately prior to submission for peer review.

Many journals are totally corrupt due to the desire of the editors to pursue their financial interests. These journals have nothing to do with science.

It is funny to see low-quality papers in famous journals where authors put their acknowledgements on the first page thanking the editor for fast processing of their paper. Many cases of plagiarism, inaccuracies, and just typos were detected personally by me in such "famous" journals.

So I would rather be not so willing to publish in such types of journals where authors include the "ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS" section on the first page and thank editor just for processing their paper (doing his job).

After all, the famous paper by Perelman was published on arxiv as it was obvious for him that journals will try to delay his publication as much as they can in order to downplay his contribution and steal his ideas. As a form of his protest, he even refused to receive 1,000,000 $ as a prize in order to demonstrate the level of corruption and his attitude to the people involved.

Research is a serious action & it is not the matter of reading a literature & novels . In this line for research work of dated study ,reference of books for the subject to be carefully viewed & for the action planning research is to undertaken for the program.

Your manuscript needs to be a ‘best fit’ with the target audience and mission of the selected journal.

Consideration in selecting a journal

Identify your audience.

Determine what journals they read.

Determine what various journals publish by reviewing recent issues.

Identify a journal that serves your purpose.

Read the instructions to the authors.

Outline and structure the summary abstract and references according to the specific journal requirements.

Another consideration in journal selection is the ‘impact factor’. This reflects the number of times an article from that journal is cited in other papers (the citation index). DEALING WITH A REJECTED MANUSCRIPT

First, recognize that acceptance rates across journals are low, often less than 20%. Do not be discouraged. Take heart, all writers have had many rejected papers. Second, unemotionally consider the reviewers’ and editor’s comments. Third, take time to think about how the paper may be revised and improved. A discussion with your personal editor may be helpful as you try to address each comment. Consider submission to another journal in which the topic may be of greater interest. This is a question many researches want to know the answer to. There are guidelines to follow by publishers. To be honest I do not think that it would be enough to meet the expectations by a publisher. In my view a top paper must provide an idea out of the box and apply it in an innovative manner. When thinking about COVID-19 I think these dimensions can be translated into several factors:

Dear Bodh R Sharma always try to go for an established journal with an impact factor. Concerning the IF, try to be realistic, but not overambitious. Always strictly adhere to the Author Guidelines of the journal and try to find an eye-catching title to whet the Editor's appetite.

There's no reason to confine your publication efforts to one journal. If rejected by the first journal look at the reviewers' comments carefully and incorporate as many changes as feasible then submit to another journal. I know the wait and process could be frustrating but keep at it and you will succeed. The publication efforts are a learning process, so it is best not to take things personally and continue to improve.

If your goal is to publish for a high ranking journal then stay committed to that; utilize the network of resources that are available to you. Even if the paper is not accepted it's still good to have it published in other journals. The most important thing is to always aim high towards high journal ranking publication and keep on writing to develop your career profile.

Sometimes your manuscript may be rejected by one or more reputable journals, before you finally succeed in publishing it in another reputable journal. That's one of the rigors of making academic publications

Milestones on the way to getting one’s desired publication in one’s desired journal : 1. Get the essence right : aim for great meticulous research and 2. Get the output right : the formatting, central illustrations, figures, et al and 3. Get the perserverance right : most important ;-) all would agree to this one ... and 4. Get the constructive feedback right : aka criticism by reviewers is critical to bettering our research, let’s not take that personally. ;-)

Dear Bodh R Sharma please keep in mind that getting you work "printed without revision" is a very rare case. Normally the manuscript is sent to 2-3 reviewers. Occasionally one of them suggests "publish as is", but the other reviewers will certainly suggest revision. In my experience, the reviewers comments virtually always help improving the quality of the manuscript.

Its a tough question. Different journals look for different things. However, never be discouraged. Even if your paper is rejected, you can always send to another journal. I always believe that if a journal does not accept my paper, its 'their' loss.

Then you can do a few things to make the manuscript attractive for editors and reviewers. For example, a short and eye-catching title is of some importance. Then you should follow in all detail the "Instructions for Authors" provided by the journal. It is very important that the style and formatting is consistent throughout the manuscript. If possible, use nice color Figures to make the manuscript even more attractive.
