I am growing Arabidopsis (Col-0) in both +P and -P medium (JOHNSON'S medium) the plants which are growing in -P showing the anthocyanin accumulation in their leaves when it compared to plants which are growing in +P medium. But the primary root growth is not inhibiting in the plants which are growing in -P I don't know why, but anthocyanin is accumulating, My doubt is whether my media is not proper or should I have to wait for some more days. now my plants are 5 days old, my question is, at which day the Arabidopsis start to show primary root inhibition after exposing to -P medium??
My best guess would be more time is needed. 5 days is not much time and the seed will have phosphorus in it. You are seeing the foliage change so that seems promising.
Based on my previous experience, you should observe alterations in primary root growth after 7-9 days. It's crucial to note that plants display diverse responses to nutrient deficiencies, and the timing can be influenced by factors such as the severity of the deficiency, the plant's age, and specific growth conditions.
