We have been thinking about all IHC and ICC data that we have collected during our PhD and that will never be published. In fact, only a minor portion of all experimental work have been published and this makes it always hard to find reliable data on how good some antibodies (or marker of any kind, such as toxins or nuclear markers) really are. For this reason we are trying to set up a community database where one can insert a short protocol with essential guidelines for the use of an antibody (antibody, concentration, incubation time, short protocol and so on) and pictures of the immunostaining.
I would be really grateful if you could give it a look and test it by adding one of your stainings, or if you could also give me some feedback.

I have noticed it..but there are very few IHC/ICC pictures..it's mainly antibody rating..

A really interesting initiative!! I think all of us have thought about this situation at some point during our research... especially when dealing with new or poorly-characterized antibodies/markers.
I'm wondering, though, how can you trust the data you receive... I'm sure most of it should be OK, but you should find a way to validate it, or open a "comments" section on each staining so people experienced in this labelling can give their opinion, or even hints and help about the staining conditions (such as performing different permeabilization protocols, antigen retrieval steps, etc).
Anyway, keep up with it and, as collective effort is needed in this kind of initiatives, try to spread the word ;-)
I agree with you Sara. In fact the only way to judge science in general is with peer review..and in this case we are going to add a comment form at the bottom of each antibody sheet to give possibility to anyone to comment on the images or to endorse the results. Why dont you try to add a couple of antibodies just to give it a try and to give me some feedback?
I agree with you Jérôme, http://www.antibody-adviser.org seems to be the most advanced tool to begin to share scientists' experience on antibodies in a centralised way.
