Does anyone has an idea and/or reference of an article stating differences on microrganisms performances depending on how you start the experiment, for example:

If you take the frozen sample, plate it in agar, and strike a colony into complete medium before starting the experiment VS, frozen, plate in agar and from the plate, starting the experiment.

I've come across something like that once but I cannot recall or find it.
