Rab-YFP can not be recognized by Anti-YFP antibody but works with Anti-GFP antibody?

Recently we ordered YFP- tagged Rab protein (Rab-YFP) drosophila fly lines (for 15 different Rab proteins) from VDRC. Unfortunately none of them can be recognized by YFP antibody, but can be labelled with GFP antibody. Has anyone else had similar issue?

There are a wide variety of YFP mutants, but in general most fluorescent proteins are mutants themselves of GFP. It may be possible that your anti-GFP antibody detects the highly conserved portions of the fluorescent protein family and that your YFP antibody is specific for a certain yellow fluorescent variant/mutant. Have you checked the predicted amino acid trace to the immunogen identity for the antibody production?
