Surveys and censuses ask respondents all sorts of personal questions, but I'm not aware of any that include birth order (eg. are you a first, 2nd...only child?). Do you know of any that include that? Birth order impacts health and mortality and, I suspect, attitudes and behaviour and I would like to explore this further.
Birth order effects were refuted ( Zajonc, et al. (1975). Psychological review, 82, 74) But seem to be garnering continued interest ( Rohrer et al. (2017). Psychological science, 28, 1821-1832.
Especially in researches about personality development and development of inner perception processes If appropriate hypotheses have been established, it is reasonable to use it as an independent variable.

Are you aware of any research on audience awareness of only children?
Two remarks,
1 I am not on the last level of newest discussion, but earlier research on inelligence of siblings show that the oldest gets better results, there is no o random distribution among siblings, however, in the past the number of siblings was greater
2 there are some results in psychology of development on role taking between two siblings, and, of course exist well-known theoretical assumptions of psychoanalysis.
