Does anyone know of literature on, or have an interest in the application of psychological knowledge and principles to different political parties? I am especially interested in psychological analyses of left-wing parties and voters.

Some of my areas of interest are the ideological consistency and the effect of social threat on the increase of authoritarianism
Are you interested in different sources of social threat and how these impact the growth of authoritarianism? I am thinking of an old piece of research by Leon Festinger called "when prophecy fails" about how a cult adapted to failure in its prophecies. This relates to authoritarianism.
