I am working on Pseudomonas fluorescent strain identification, I found that some of isolate that I have been conserve at 80c last year have loosing their fluorscent appearance on new culture. someoine can explain the cause?
Fluorescent pseudomonads have the potential to suppress fungal plant pathogensand thereby improve plant growth. Several factors such as rhizosphere competence and the production of antibiotics are considered to be important for efficient control of pathogens . In addition, it is essential that the inoculant be able to establish a metabolically active population in the rhizosphere which is capable of expressing the traits needed for biological control. We still need to understand the factors governing the distribution and activity patterns of the inoculants. The rhizosphere habitat exhibits great spatial and temporal heterogeneity, making information at the level of single cells invaluable for addressing these factors.
