Hi! Im having trouble with the purification of RNA from leaves of strawberry (Fragaria anannassa). Do you know a good protocol to do it? Which endogenous gene do you recommend to check for inhibitors in the sample (nadh?) Thanks in advance!

I worked with RNA purification from the leaves. Indeed it is quite important - carbohydrates. But in the case of strawberry leaves it does not seems a big problem. In the same case (almost the same case with Chlorophytum leaves) I used simple column-based kit. For example RNAqueous™-4PCR Total RNA Isolation Kit or RNAqueous™ Total RNA Isolation Kit. I know about specific kits for plant samples, but for me it is not so important.
