Hi Nanotemper MST (microscale thermophoresis) users, have you noticed during the last year that your MST experiment stopped working with new batches of Nanotemper capillaries? We have been doing MST for 5 years now everything worked perfect. Now with new batch of capillaries ordered this year- noise level is much higher, so we don’t get a binding curve. Doing same with old batch of capillaries results in perfect curve. Nanotemper must have changed something in their capillaries manufacturing. I wonder, have anyone noticed something wrong with experiments or higher noise levels lately? Nanotemper are saying that they haven’t heard from customers having problems, but maybe people are not aware that there is a problem with capillaries? We can’t be the only ones!
Have someone tried reusing capillaries and it worked? please share a protocol. We have some left from the older batch that we want to reuse, since the new ones don’t work anymore… Our whole project is based on a working MST assay, which stopped working one day (after 5 years of successfully doing mst every day!), when we got a new capillary shipment and stands still since then. So we are kind of desperate…
