This is a good article and we certainly to be aware of the risks of more malignant varieties of basal cell carcinoma. However, I very strongly believe we can reduce the risk by treating the skin with vitamin A rich products. Vitamin A first of all acts as a sunscreen but it’s main role is in maintainingnnthe normal regulation of growth of stem cells and differentiation of normal healthy keratinocytes. VItamin A rich skin does not get skin cancers. For both basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma the skin is always deficient in vitamin A when they develop. BY enriching the skin with good levels of vitamin A we can avoid or minimize the number of skin cancers people get from outdoor activities. I have done this for my patients since 1987 with success in Cape Town South Africa.
