I get confused between whether to use Na2HPO4 or NaH2PO4.
As the are some protocol that uses Na2HPO4 and some that use NaH2PO4.
I am using this PBS for cell culture and maintenance purpose.
Need clarification to this. Thank you in advanced.
There are many variations of formulations of PBS. The main distinction is whether or not they have calcium and magnesium. I would assume that either of your protocol versions will be fine. If it matters to you, I happen to use the dibasic versiion d sodium phosphate.o
You have to use Na2HPO4 and KH2PO4. Basically u have to use a dibasic and a mono basic salt for this buffer to set pH unlike the tris buffers where u use HCL or NaOH to adjust pH. So u have the sodium dibasic (more basic) and the potassium mono basic (more acidic) in this recipe. Hope this answers it.

For PBS (cell culture), i'm using this recipe :
Prepare 800 mL of distilled water in a suitable container.
8 g of NaCl to the solution.
200 mg of KCl to the solution.
1.44 g of Na2HPO4 to the solution.
240 mg of KH2PO4 to the solution.
