01 January 1970 4 4K Report

Poor nutrition is a cross-cutting constraint affecting growth and reproduction rates in small ruminants, the impact of worms on animals, and lamb and kid mortality. Feed gaps caused by seasonal deficiencies in the supply of home-grown feed as compared to demand from livestock are the main issue, and overstocking and overgrazing are also common. Grazing is the most important feed source and used for sheep and goats grown on farm.
